Drive thru Baby Shower

Hey Yall! I wanted to tell you about something wonderful! A local church gave a pregnant woman who works at Dunkin Donuts drive thru, a drive thru baby shower! The Pastor of the church encouraged his congretation to take presents to the lady on a day they had chosen! So as they paid for their order at the drive thru they handed her a gift for her coming baby! I thought it was amazing and encouraged me to ...Be the Miracle!! The local news interviewed the lady and her husband, they were so surprised and happy about it!! Don't you agree that this was a lovely way to bless someone!? Abraham Lot

I had to share this funny story with you...two sisters, ages 6 and 7 were in my office. The youngest little girl said "Hey didn't you color that picture in Sunday School?" her sister said "Yes I did and I gave it to her" (meaning me). The younger sister says "Oh okay, Is that Abraham and Lot?" The 7 year old big sister snapped at her , "No! That is Mr. Abraham Lot and I don't know who the other man is." LOL sweet girls! I explained it to them before they left LOL I thought it was too cute!

The other night I looked outside my window and saw the most beautiful thing! The sky was full of twinkling stars and it was amazing!! It looked like a fiber optic show LOL I told God, "Wow you are just showing off now!! This is beautiful!"
Then I found this scripture in www.BibleGateway.com

Isaiah 40
25 "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.
26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

Pretty cool huh?? :) So God calls the stars by name! That is awesome!

Now I can see how many red bulbs I am missing on my tree LOL

The black and white effect is pretty dont you think? It is a white tree (again this year) with white lights and red bulbs...and a couple of snow men peeking out from behind!!

Hello friends!

Sorry I have been away so long...I have missed each of you! I need to take time and catch up on your blogs so you will be hearing from me!!
My church asked me to be on a committee that will remodel the kitchen, so I am excited about the project. It is only in the beginning planning stages right now but I am happy about being involved. (You know I love to feed folks) so this is right up my alley to be part of designing a kitchen that is functional and beautiful!! I may seek your guidance, experience and shoulder from time to time, like I always do!!

Hello All

Well everything worked out! I finally found a place to live and even though it was a close call I did not have to move to Mississippi. I survived the entire ordeal and hopefully can mentally recouperate soon. I am really tired from the move and the stress of it!
Thank all of you for your prayers and encouragement. The Lord took care of me. I will post again soon when I am unpacked.

Rescue Mission Revival was a success!

Monday night was the final night of the Rescue Mission revival. It was for 3 days. I would estimate that about 20 something people accepted Christ as their Savior. It was an awesome revival. It doesn't cost anything to be nice to people. It also puts my life into perspective. Seeing people sleeping on the ground outside by my car on Sunday night really upset me. The Mission was full and there was no where else for them to go. It broke my heart. Life is about choices for some of us. Or sometimes circumstance. We should always be thankful for what we have!! And make a difference in others lives when we have an opportunity.

Carnival glass

This is some of my carnival glass collection. I boxed it up and prayed over it...please don't get broken! I have collected each piece at different times and they are so pretty. The pictures just don't do them justice. The tall vase was a 40th birthday present to myself!! I guess the others just followed me home!

I may be moving to Mississippi very soon, so I am going to pack my most valued items in the car with me...these are riding with me if it comes to that...

Down sized!

Well, my friends were all suggesting I DOWNSIZE since I have so much stuff to move eventually . To be honest it hurt me...I like my stuff...I do donate to good causes when needed, but I love the hunt and the find of pretty things. Downsize has come out of so many mouths... well here you go.. I sold this bench on Craigslist. Out of all of my stuff this was the ONE thing I can live without...so there ,I did it...I downsized. One less thing to move some where LOL I have a lead on a place that I will go and see tonight so tomorrow may be brighter! I am keeping the faith and trying to take really small steps as to not make my situation any worse!! Thank you for all of your prayers and encouragement. I know the solution is just up ahead!!

This is a real picture!

This was in our local newspaper...I had to laugh when someone wrote the comment"...look how sad! Someone threw away a perfectly good bear!!" Apparently the bear was dumpster diving and was caught by the photographer! It looks staged!! I told you I saw one a couple of weeks ago on the side of the road near the woods. I guess with the woods being torn down for a new airport and residential areas its forcing the bears to look for food elsewhere..I just thought this was a great picture!

Fall Decorations

Hey yall! I have been busy packing up my life lol but I thought I would check in with you. I still do not have a place to move to but I am activating my faith and packing up all I own and waiting for divine intervention!

Tablescape Thursday!!

This was my grandmother's table cloth! I accidentally shrunk it in the dryer years ago. However, it is still beautiful. The beautiful smaller plates are labeled only with a Fleur and the word Sevres under it... they are beautiful!

Bill...I'm sure you spotted I have 2 different color large green gobblets...I found 3 at my favorite shop Scavengers on Saturday!! A very sweet new friend took me to find them since they moved away from the beach. I was so happy to shop there again!! I hope it doesn't look bad! 3 of them are a little lighter green!(fingers crossed)

I love white and gold and green...it just works...don't you agree? ;)

Honest to goodness!!

I had to work this morning, so I was a little grumpy thinking I might be the only one! I live in an area that has residential areas and some country undeveloped areas (the woods) so on my way to work I have occassionally seen a deer, possum, snake or racoon, however this morning...a black bear came out of the woods! He was not full grown, but not a cub...perhaps a teenage bear. I could not have been more surprised if a pink army tank had rolled out of those woods LOL

I saw him up a head and slowed down, thinking it was a very large dog who might run out in front of my car, LOL, the closer I got...he and I both put on our brakes LOL, I headed to work and he ran back into the woods LOL This is not a picture of that bear, but it looks a lot like him!

I have never seen a bear that wasn't in a zoo before...so it was a unique experience for me! I'll let you know if any pink army tanks come out of the woods next time! LOL

Bill, I brought out some silverware LOL, and check out the milk glass too!! The blue glasses are Fostoria. The table runner is actually a very old sheet that had that pretty design running down the side, so I folded and used it on top of a white tablecloth. The napkin rings are from a yard sale.

Welcome to Tablescape Thursday!! These are light pink plates. I put white ones under them hoping to show them better. They are very dainty and pretty. The bottle may be a perfume bottle. I found it at an Antique Store in Dothan. The pretty flutes were a gift from my son on Valentine's Day a couple of years ago

I did not use my Silver yet...maybe next week LOL

This beautiful smaller cake plate was about $20 at an Antique store years ago . It is a deep rich burgundy! I ran the lights thru the table for a dramatic effect.

God Bless the USA!!!! My heart swells with pride and patriotic feelings when I see our flag. I prayed for our country at this moment. So many men and women have served to give us the right to wave our flag! And salute our flag!

These girls did a fantastic job performing with their horses! Great dance routines!!

These kids were getting ready to chase 3 calfs to get the ribbon off of their tail to win prize!

I finally get to use those pretty blue glasses I bought!! They fit perfect with the colors!

Bill how do I shine this pretty glass? I used hot soap and water and she is still a little dingy. Pretty but not shiney!

Hey Yall!! Welcome to Tablescape Thursday. I have to tell you after seeing Bill's fantastic find of silverware from the Goodwill, I ran over there and found these Amherst Wedgwood Dinner plates. There were 7 dinner plates and 2 salad plates for $10.00!!! The replacement cost is $34.99 each!! I was so excited. Then on the way home my car pulled over to a yard sale and I found the cut glass glasses for 25 cents each. I think it turned out beautiful! What do you think? I've looked forward to this all week!!!
