I am so ashamed...I am an old lady and I absolutely love this movie!! Maybe its not the young man I really want... I think it is the idea of romance and raw love and all that kissing! ...I don't know but I really loved the movie Twilight. I sort of wished I hadn't seen the next one LOL who knew that I am a cougar?! LOL

A monumental moment in the kitchen !

My daughter cooked her first roast last night and I was so thrilled to be there to assist her. She has never thought much about cooking but now that she's married, she is more interested! The roast was moist and delicious! I was so proud! Since the groom wont be back home from Kuwait until December she has a few months to practice!! Yall send any easy recipes you think she should try okay?

More Wedding Pictures

I've got to tell you this is my LITTLE brother giving me a kiss! How sweet is this! Remember the wedding was outside in the heat and I was exhausted so I dont look my best. But I was so happy!!
Here is the candy table. I had a vision of an Amy Atlas candy table but it went terribly wrong...other family members sort of took over the project and it totally went a different direction than I had planned (sigh) but it still turned out nice...not my vision but nice.
I filled the 15 glass bowls with sand from our beaches and added the candle and the sea shells to every table. It was very pretty!
This was the Sweetheart table. The idea of the blue tulle was for it to look like water LOL The kids loved it! My church loaned us a round table for them and I had white lights underneath the tablecloths...it was so pretty!!

In our family we always did the "Pinkie Swear" when you lock pinkies. It means you are making a promise that can't be broken or compromised! Just seeing this one made me burst into tears!

Mr. and Mrs.

On Sunday June 20, 2010 I watched my little girl get married. While this may be an awww moment to some of you...it was a miracle from God, my Father to me. Nicole was not supposed to live according to the doctors. She was born with a heart defect that put her thru 6 open heart surgeries. The doctors told me she would never see five years old. I guess Dr. Jesus determines who lives to see five years and beyond. I am so thankful that Nicole has met the man of her dreams and that God has blessed us so much. I will post a few more pictures later, I just wanted to share in the good news!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Thats no bull...well actually it is ;)

I have a funny story to tell you! I love the rodeo, especially bull riding. I don't ride the bulls I just enjoy watching others ride the bulls. Well, I went to the Bull Jam in Bonifay, Florida a few weeks ago. I was able to walk right up to this bull and get nearly eyeball to eyeball with him. I had never before been this close to a bull and it was exciting for me. We just kind of looked at each other for a while. I was thinking "Wow you are bigger than I thought you were!" Then quickly I hoped he wasn't thinking the same thing about me! Around an hour later this same bull bucked the rider off of his back, made a trip around the arena then JUMPED a 6 foot fence to get back into the pen. I guess they didnt open the gate fast enough to suit him so he let himself back in! I was shocked! I did not know they could jump!!! IF I had known that I probably would not have been that close to him!!!

Secret Revealed

My kids don't know this about me! I have been collecting letters (Okay a small collection :) of letters from the White House since they were very young. I have a letter from Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, George Bush Jr and Laura Bush and now President Carter has responded to a letter I wrote to him! The letters I wrote were filled with encouragement, just so you know!

It was the perfect ending to a terrible day! I sat in my driveway and my heart was full of Joy as I read my note from Jimmy Carter!
We live in a world that has been replaced by text messages, emails and voicemail but a note handwritten by Jimmy Carter...that made me smile.
We met in Columbus, Georgia when I was a little girl. He told me I had pretty curly hair. I asked my father "Who is that man daddy?" He said "That is a man that loves Jesus and one day he will be the President of the United States." My father was correct on both accounts.

I have been a fan of Mr and Mrs Carter for a long time. They are doers of the word, not just hearers of the word! He is honest and he cares about God's people and above all He loves the Lord and is not ashamed to admit it publicly!
I'll hide my note in the box for the kids to find long after I am gone. Hopefully they will say...Wow! I never knew my mom had these!!

She said Yes!

My daughter was engaged a few weeks ago! My baby! Good grief! I am so happy for you Nicole. It seems like yesterday you were born, now so many years have passed and you are all grown up and soon to be a married woman. I am so very proud of you. You are such a good person, a good heart, you love Jesus and I am so very proud to be your mother!
When your boyfriend called and asked could he ask me a question, I thought he wanted to talk about what to get you for Valentine's Day! Then he said "May I have permission to marry your daughter?" It is a day I will never forget! I cried! It was so hard not to tell you about that telephone call!! I love you and I am so happy for you! God is so good!!

p.s. to all my blogging buddies: Nicole's fiance is now active duty in Kuwait until December but he may come back in July for a quick wedding. We do not have the details yet but I will keep you posted!

Tomorrow is the big day!

I have purchased the cookies and the drinks for the Jewelry Party, and my friend will be here at 2PM. So everyone please wish us a great success with the Jewelry Party. I am excited! My friend said to keep it simple...however, yall know me simple is hardly a word used to describe me!! I wont just open the cookie bags and let the ladies grab one! LOL I have some cake plates that I am going to stack and make it look pretty!! I bought some small water bottles to put on ice and some 2 liter drinks, and punch and lemonade that will put in glass pitchers :) it will be pretty.
One of the ladies at the church told me not to be upset if not a lot of people bought jewelry; that we could have an "Adopt a tablecloth" campaign and ask the families of the church to purchase one for $10.00 each. I think that is a great idea, however I am praying the Jewelry Party is a great success and we can pay for the tablecloths out of the proceeds!!

I am having a Jewelry Party at the church on March 6, 2010. My friend is selling this wonderful line of Jewelry and she is going to donate a portion of her proceeds to me and I am going to use it to buy new tablecloths for my church! I am so excited...you see they just put me on the Hospitality Committee specifically on the table team, to set up, decorate and arrange the 40 tables at our church for special events. I have been praying about how I can raise money to replace the worn out tablecloths we have and my friend just called me out of the blue and asked me to host a trunk party! I feel like this is an answer to my prayer! Stella and Dot also has a web site you can visit for more information in your area!!
