Hey Yall!! Welcome to Tablescape Thursday. I have to tell you after seeing Bill's fantastic find of silverware from the Goodwill, I ran over there and found these Amherst Wedgwood Dinner plates. There were 7 dinner plates and 2 salad plates for $10.00!!! The replacement cost is $34.99 each!! I was so excited. Then on the way home my car pulled over to a yard sale and I found the cut glass glasses for 25 cents each. I think it turned out beautiful! What do you think? I've looked forward to this all week!!!

Hi Lilly,
I LOVE your tablescape!! Blue is my color and those glasses are perfect.
Try soaking the clear glasses in vinegar..that may make them sparkle!
Warmly,
Deb :)
Hi Lilly,
Nicely done. Congratulations on the great find on the beautiful plates!
Deb's right; I was also going to suggest letting white vinegar sit in the glasses overnight to see if that would remove the cloudiness. You can usually feel it with your fingertips. Sometimes it's etched into the glass (usually from having been washed in a dishwasher). Soap sitting in a moist crystal soap dish over time, for example, can cause minerals to leach out of the glass and the surface becomes rough and cloudy. Nothing I know of will fix something like that.
You can usually tell if the cloudiness will come off by scratching it with your fingernail. If it leaves a clear line behind, the vinegar trick might help. Some people also try filling the glasses with water and dropping in a denture tablet ... then soaking overnight. So if you know someone who has dentures .... glad I don't have them ... yet!
P.S. The cake stands in the center of the table are beautiful! Are they new or vintage?
Lilly--Are you sure Bill is a good influence on you? :) You got some great deals and I love your blue glasses! Beautiful! I bet the vinegar will do the trick!
Hi Lilly,
I can see why you were excited you got such lovely bargains!
I love the cut glasses.
Take care,
Carolyn
Just beautiful!

Great finds! Your new plates and glasses are very pretty. My fav are the blue stemware, very lovely! Did you try running your clear glasses through the dishwasher? For the price you paid, it might be worthwhile to give it a try if the vinegar doesn't work.

Great finds! Love the blue glasses!!!
Lilly, you have set a beautiful table in blue! The goblets are great...I think they add pizzazz to the gorgeous plates...you did luck out on those! GW isn't always good to me, but I did find a table that was exactly what I wanted for my sewing machine. I also have some cut glass goblets that nothing works on, so I just put iced tea in them, and no one notices the cloudiness! Happy TT! Mary
I think you hit the mother lode! Wow. I am impressed and very pleased to meet you..

Hello Lilly~ ~ ~I am so glad you stopped by it's so nice to meet you.
I love your table. What wonderful buys you got, the tone of the blues looks perfect together.
On the glass, you might want to try H2o2, Hydrogen peroxide. I get it at Walmart. I had a stained dinner plate last week, it was white and I put red beet eggs on the plate and the red would not come out of the crazing. I poured H2o2 on the plate and let it sit overnight and all the red was gone!
Don't know how it will work on minerals but Hey, it won't hurt to try.

Very pretty! What a steal on the china, love it! I also like the blue glasses, and the cut glass glasses from the garage sale! I hope you get them sparkling soon, good advice from others. I was going to suggest using lemon juice and baking soda. Let us know what works.

Hi Lily,
What great finds! Those dinner plates are just wonderful. I would have bought them, too.
I have the same glasses. After soaking in vinegar try to use a clean toothbrush to get between those crevices.
Love the plates you got a great deal! Wow, are those cake plates I think bubble pattern? I love to see a close up. Love the crystal! Good luck getting it to sparkle.
Lilly, what beautiful china; what a beautiful tablescape; and what amazing bargains! I'm so glad I went back to see this post. As usual, I'm having trouble keeping up with my blog reading. laurie
