My first Love!

This pretty much says it...

My Papi (grandfather) from Puerto Rico. Forgive the panty shot girls!! My mother sent me these pictures in honor of the upcoming Valentine's holiday. We were talking about love. She asked me if I remembered my first love and of course I said "Yes ma'am, it was Donny Osmond!" she giggled and said "No! It was your Papi!" She reminded me I was crazy about my grandfather and he was crazy about me. I went everywhere with him and he spoiled me rotten.

He was truly my first love! He was also my first heart break...passing away when I was only 6 years old...

This is not my Valentine's Table. I just was trying some things out. I bought the lamp in the center for $1.00 at a yard sale a while back. I thought it looked pretty with the rose garland around it to hide the cord!

I think it's kind of sweet...

As you know it is nearly Valentine's month, so I am going thru my things. I found another Valentine that my favorite guy (my son Brandon) made for me. I must be allergic to this one too because my eyes watered, lip quivered and my heart beats increased dramatically! LOL!
This Valentine is probably 21 years old but it must be under a great warranty because it still works! It pulls at my memory bank and my heart at the same time after all these years!!

I call this picture determination! This little guy is determined to grow even in a concrete jungle!!

I have to tell you that I have been feeling a little down lately. The holidays are always so stressful for me because I am alone and all of my family members are married...and every year I have to hear the comments: Are you dating anyone? Whats wrong with you? I think you are too picky! I find a way to dodge the comments and questions but when I get back home...it bothers me. My brother even made the comment that " The Pope isn't allowed to date!" (He meant that my standards are too high) but I am holding out for the right man. I have made some choice that were hmmm WRONG...so I decided to let God bring me the man he wants me to have.
But I will admit sometimes I feel sad and wish I had that man in my life now...I try to stay busy to run from these sad feelings (hence all the volunteer work) but sometimes they catch up with me...So say a little prayer for me today please!

p.s. I have NOT been drinking LOL, I am sure this is one of those menopause episodes!!!!

A simple table setting before Valentine's day! I finally have all of the Christmas things packed away but I am not quite ready for Valentine's Day either so I am keeping it simple in the dining room. I've put everything where it needs to go but am still not really happy with the end results so I will be making some changes!! Hope yall are having a great day!

This is my new kitchen window. I am not happy with the results. I will change this. I used what was left of the chair fabric for the bottom. Oh well, sometimes things work sometimes they don't! LOL I will keep you posted on this one.

My son made me this Valentine when he was 6 years old. I think I am allergic to it because everytime I read it...my eyes water, my heart races, I laugh and cry at the same time.. He made the card himself...amazing child...I made HIM myself!! LOL

Here is a $1.00 chair that I bought at a yard sale. My guys at work, sandblasted the rust from it, painted it white and covered the cushions for me (I helped by putting 10000 staples but they made me take them out and showed me how to do it properly! I think it is safe to say we will not be seeing Lilly's Upholstery shop anytime soon! But it turned out so pretty. I love those guys!!

Remember the BIRDS I told you about yesterday...here are just a few of them! I am convinced that movie BIRDS was filmed right in this very yard! LOL

Update!

The top picture is of an outdoor kitchen that my guys at work did for a client. They just did the granite but isn't it beautiful. The outdoor view is amazing!!

I stepped out in faith and bought Hercules Hooks. They were 10 for $4.99 at Target. The landlord is coming over this week so I will approach him and see what he thinks! I am really praying he agrees with this because I have some things I would love to hang! Guess what I forgot to buy batteries for the camera. I have some really good pictures to post! I will get them tonight after work! The house is coming together nicely!

I have something funny to tell you! You know how I love to feed the birds? Well, I put up a bird feeder and water station in the yard for the birds and waited patiently for the beautiful red birds and blue birds to arrive. Well for days, no birds came...this past Saturday, it seems like hundreds of black birds arrived. My yard was completely covered it looked like a black carpet. I was standing at the french doors with my mouth hanging open, speechless! LOL My small bird feeding budget does not cover hundreds of birds, so ummm maybe I will buy a fish or transfer my bird feeder to my job and feed those few birds LOL

Help a sister out!

Hello friends! I have a dilemma! This beautiful house came with some stipulations...no shoes to be worn in the house (brand new white tile) and no nails in the walls...I know (sigh) but it is just me so I can adjust... besides I can wear houseshoes or socks, however, the picture hanging sitation is different! Have any of you used these products above and do they work? I have so many things I want to hang up! Please let me know what you think. I emailed this company in the picture,can get a $1.00 coupon off of their website but I want to get your opinions before moving forward. Please send me any opinions or ideas!!

It's a New Year!!

Hey Y'all! I hope everyone had a fantastic New Years! Mine was safe and relaxing! I had the black eyed peas and greens on Thursday afternoon which is a tradition my family has done every year of my life for New Years Day meal. I am sending you a picture of the end of my hallway. It is painted orange with 3 white shelves, and my cobalt blue bottles fit beautiful on here!
